PEACHES & GLITZ : Nail design : Nail Strips and Nail Polish

Oh my peaches! I love peachy colors for my make-up.
But I've never found a really nice peach polish from the drugstore...
UNTIL NOW, that is.

This is another line from the nail strip I used here and here.
It's less girly but are still really cute.
The main difference is that these strips have an extra film on top for more protection.
It is much thinner than the other line and less gummy.
Personally, I prefer the gummy nail strips as I could always layer a top coat if I want it to be extra smooth and shiny.
I picked one strip for my thumb.

Caronia Nail Polishes are a tad more expensive than other drugstore polishes.
It's around P35.00. I have misplaced the receipt for this purchase grrrr!
It has a nice shiny finish but the formula is not that great.
It's on the watery side and doesn't give good color pay-off until 3 thick coats.
It also bubbled up (because of the watery consistency).
Having said that, it's still such a pretty peach pastel color.

Bobbie Premium Nail Creme has brought out old favorites.
This line of gorgeous glitter polishes also come in blue, gold and silver.
But this peachy-pink glitter polish seems perfect for this nail design.

GOLD STANDARD : Nail Design : Nail Polish and Nail Strip

Adding old-world glamour to your nails in half the time!
Thank the heavens for nail strips.
This way, I can create any design I want without learning how to do nail art.
I tried but I really suck at nail air :P

I used the nail strip left over from this post.
There was a lot of it left because the strips are pretty long.
As I've mentioned, I had tip issues.
To take care of that, I cut the strip in half :)

For the gold polish, I used OMG Oh My Golly in Gold Digger.
This is the best affordable gold polish in the market.
It is opaque (all gold, not just glitter) in two coats. It's also long wearing.
The gold matches perfectly with the gold accents on the strips!

AFFORDABLE NAIL STRIPS : Nail Foils

I picked up a couple of Nail Strips in Landmark, TriNoma (see the haul post here).
They've just brought it in and I am ever so happy that they've leveled-up their stock.

GNDG Nail Foils
(doesn't have the design number)
Comes with 16 Nail Strips in various sizes.
P29.75

INGREDIENTS (Glue):
Epoxy Resin, Acrylates, Copolymer,
Tris-BHT Mesitylene, Xylene, Potassium,
Cumene Sulfonate

HOW TO USE:

1) Peels the strip off gently. It may tear if you work on it too hard.

2) Make sure that your nails are clean. I can't put it on bare nails.
Here, I have a base coat on.

3) Position it on the sides first (make sure to pick the strip that's the closest match to your nail bed).
Hold it on that side and pull it over your nail then smooth it out.

4) File and press down for a few seconds to secure it.

I'm new to this so the nails aren't perfect.
Nonetheless, it's very pretty.
My problem is major tip wear. Even if I file it off perfectly, it's still showing major tip wear.

THE FEELS
You do feel that you have strips on.
It's a bit annoying but not comfortable.

If you have tips on how to make my technique better,
leave them on a comment below.

Chic Nail Color in Bluebell Grape 10ml for P30.75

It's a warm toned blue with a cream finish.
This is my SUMMER BLUE 2014!
It's easy to apply - the formula is divine.
The only problem is that it shows major tip wear after a couple of days (see below).
Just layer on a good top coat to fix that.

What's your SUMMER BLUE?
